Sandra Morgan Interiors ~ Our Firm & Designers

Sandra Morgan and Laird Morgan Tolan

When owners of fine homes in Connecticut, New York and Florida feel the need to revitalize their living spaces, they turn to Sandra Morgan Interiors, Inc.

Established in 1988 in Greenwich, Connecticut, with a branch office in Vero Beach, Florida, this full-service residential interior design firm is headed by the mother-daughter team of Sandra Morgan and Laird Morgan Tolan. Each partner brings her own passions to the design table: Sandra’s for art and antiques and Laird’s for high fashion and styling.

Rooms with their point of view are classically elegant, yet fresh and alive with a visual appeal, accented by works of fine art. What gives them their creative spark is the blending of traditional with modern, simple with grand, formal with relaxed — not just a mix of styles, but a true fusion. The result is spaces that are both beautiful and livable. Recent projects include a Georgian style renovation in Greenwich, CT; a condominium with skyline views in Stamford, CT; a colonial home with a modern twist in Riverside, NY; a total renovation of a New York City townhouse, and two vacation homes on Florida’s Gold Coast.

In 2007 the firm launched SM Home, a retail store for unique furnishings, antiques and original artwork. It quickly became the go-to resource for Swedish style and received the ASID 2008 Award for Excellence in Retail Design. Here, art lovers will also find the SM Home Art Gallery, which has been personally curated by Sandra Morgan showcasing works by established and emerging contemporary artists.

The firm’s mission is to create spaces that delight your spirit as well as your eye … and make it a real pleasure to come home.

About Sandra Morgan

Sandra MorganFor more than 20 years, Sandra Morgan has been a leading designer in the Connecticut and New York interior design communities. Luxury design publications such as House Beautiful, Design Times, Connecticut Cottages and Gardens, Greenwich Magazine, New York Spaces and Vero Beach Magazine have featured her work and she is among the few favored designers that are regularly invited to participate in prestigious show house events.

Sandra has loved art and antiques since childhood. After graduating from Connecticut College, cum laude, with a BA in Art History, she took editorial positions at House & Garden and Mademoiselle, where she created the decorating column Chez Mademoiselle.  She later established her interior design firm, art gallery and retail shop for Swedish antiques and fine home furnishings.  Much like her design aesthetic, SM Home emanates an urbane, traditional style with touches of modernism throughout.  Her knowledge and passion for art resulted in collaborations with galleries in NYC  and inspired her to establish an art gallery housed within the same charming building as her design firm.  Sandra raised her family in Greenwich and now resides with her husband in Darien.
